Well, we had heard rumors, and Saturday, Feb 22nd, 2025, it Hit The Streets! Another accolade for Affton High School Drama Teacher Judith Rethwisch. Some 20 Year ago they dedicated the Affton High Auditorium to Judy, Actor John Goodman flew in to do the ceremony, And now, they decided to honor, Mrs. R with a 60th anniversary dedication to teaching celebration.

Mrs. Rethwisch started the Affton Education Foundation some 20 years ago, that has raised $2.6 million for Affton Kids to go to college, giving out many dozens of scholarships over the years. This years meeting to plan the annual gala, they decided it was time to once again honor someone who has helped thousands of kids prepare for life.
The Cardinal Cowboy, Judy’s Favorite (and only) Son, Carter Rethwisch has had many many past students of Mrs. R tell him, at the Cards games, that she had an incredible impact on their lives. Something that is inspiring to us all. Carter’s mom was critical in his recovery from a near death coma when he was riding in the back seat of a car with his college soccer buddies and they were struck by a drunk driver.
Judy Rethwisch can truly work miracles! Her son, The Cardinal Cowboy, lives his life with the appreciation he gained from the amazing support from his mother to recover when experts said he would not. Judy’s Daughter, Christine Nigh (Rethwisch), has learned much from her mother, and followed her footsteps, impacting many many kids as well as a grade-school teacher and reading specialist in the Affton School District. Brother and Sister, Carter and Christine are huge fans of Mom and are trying to do everything they can to follow the path, Mrs. R., Judy Rethwisch has blazed.
